And, given that the site is based in Britain, why isn't the joining fee given in £'s (pounds)?
I had to go to an internet currency conversion site, work out that $15 is about £9.20 or something, round it up to £10 and send a cheque.
Also, having it in Euro's (haven't got a symbol for that) might be useful.

But the site could quote dollars, pounds and euros.
Of course, if you pay by credit card it makes no difference, but I wouldn't have one of those evil things 🙂
