Just for awhile...

I will just be playing my games...seems maybe "stevens" was
right...to much of a chatter and not not much of a "chessplayer"

I was just here to have fun and make a few people better in their
game.

I even might take a break for a bit...start studying harder and win the
the California Open...which they keep sending me letters about...even
though they know I am up here...I haven't a chance at the IM's in this
area.

Oh well.

I always enjoy reading your postings. There's nothing wrong with how
you handle yourself here. This Site has become more than just for
playing chess. It is a community of so many different people. Don't
let what "stevens" said get you down. Be yourself and don't let
someone else try to change you. I will appreciate you no matter what
you decide.

I would never be so presumptuous as to "speak for" Dave, but I do
know from experience (as I suspect we all do, in some respect) that
every now and then, on needs a shift in priorities. Sometimes just a
short break, sometimes not. I believe that Dave feels the same way
that I, and many others here, feel-- as was already said, this site has
become about more than just playing chess, it has become a
community, and it has become very important to some of us. I don't
think Dave will abandon the community. I certainly hope not, because
he is a HUGE asset to this community. I think what he is doing with
the forum is similar to what he once suggested I do with the game
end of the site-- sometimes you need to take a break in order to
remember why you came in the first place.

And if he is going to use the time he was spending on the forums to
focus on his game, we are ALL in even bigger trouble than we were
before when it comes to playing him😉

I'm not too happy about the tone of this post. Not your normal
cheerful self. I hope everything is ok. I'm almost always here to play
you a game of chess and take on a lesson or two. I'll be looking for
your post when you feel you've had a sufficient break.
