Need some Assistant TD's before we get this rolling.

Julia, Lyn, Gil, John, Jason, or anyone else...are you up for it?

Basically what it will be is keeping track of certain rating groups. I will
set the whole thing up...the pairings...and then we all have to keep up
with the progress.

Dave, I'd be happy to help out, if allowed. Maybe with the 1400s
section perhaps?

Got you down mark...will you be playing as well?

Yep I'd love to play; although "playing" is too grand a word I fancy,
random piece movement is more like it at times :o)

I reckon though there should be plenty of time given before it all
kicks off, so as to let the current tournament games draw to a close
and also to get as many people signed up for this as possible.

Email is on way...

Thanks Mark...we will probably have this rolling before the other is
finished...it is really quite simple...and basically the same as the first
tourney...2 games 1 black 1 white...if you lose the match you are
out...if you win..you play the next winner...and so on..untill each
section has a winner...and that is a title I am sure one would be proud
of.

After that we can do the swiss final...or just leave it as is.

Looks like paul or Gil will take the top section...although I will do my
best to give them a run for their money.

Sounds great. Will it be done on numerical sections, eg 1300-1399,
1400-1499 etc or will it be, say, lowest ranked 16 (or 32 depending on
numbers of participants) players play in one section, then the next 16
in another section, so on until the top 16 in the top section?

I'm just thinking that there could be potentially scores and scores of
people playing in the 1200s section (and say 7 rounds before the
winner is found) and it would take a loooong time, whereas there
would be at most 4 players in the 1800s section?

Also, unless I've got this wrong (which is to be fair quite likely), will it
be a straight knockout tournament like Wimbledon say, where you
have 128 players in one big draw and you can look forward to see who
you'd have in the next match should you win?

If so, won't that require either, 8, 16, 32, or 64 players in each
section? Or will some participants get byes through the first round to
make the numbers work?

Apologies if I'm on the wrong track altogether!

Also (somebody hit me) what happens if the the two games end 1-1?

Mark brought up alot of great points.

I know how to handle every situation you brought up...I will break it all
down when we finally announce for sign up.

In KO's I've played, if you split the two games (or draw both), the
lower rated player advances. Also seen it where a third game is
played. Rule for here?

Third game...tie breaker.

More to come when we get all the details straight...I hope to see you
in it.

Negative talk for an undefeated player...I am still waiting for when we
have at it...maybe I can at least put a draw scar on ya.

Make sure to watch the forums...I am NOT writing down names
yet...not untill I have all the asst. in place.

Then I will make the main post...make sure all to spread the word.
