Language Barrier

When a collection of people of various ages and backgrounds, who think in and speak 'different languages', assemble daily on a global

forum misunderstandings are inevitable. Guessing this barrier accounts for 90% of the frictions. Other 10%... we're all just plain ornery.

"porn sites often give crap, weather you block things or not:p"

I assume the stones smashed your glass house? 🙂

My english is usually simple to read and understand (and often contains errors, ill admit that).
What I ment to say is, that the only person on this site who is hard to understand for me is GB, since he likes to use 'difficult' words, which cant be found in my poor vocabulary.

Speaking the "same" language can't help either. It's never the same. Single word can vary a bit from person to person depending on when and how the person learnt the word and what he/she associates that word with.

And that's when it comes to a single word. Not to mention the whole sentences where those words make a context and interact. Number of possible interpretations is limitless. Everybody will find their own. Aaahh... Semantics 😛

As we are human, we have much to express. Our need to express ourselves is what gives us life. We express our values, our needs, our desires.

Everything we do is an expression of our goals, our interests, our obligations, our obedience to social mores, our regret, our love, our pain, our sense of humor, of outrage, of solidarity, of compassion, of disgust, of creativity, ingenuity, of beauty.

How great is it, then when someone finds a way of doing all of that in a single statement. It could be a stroke of a paintbrush. A click of a shutter. A poem. A vision.

When life is stressful, when thoughts whose beauty outweigh their usefulness are put away for sunnier days, those expressions never take wing. No ears will share that song, no eyes will squint from the brilliance of that spark.

You've all experienced it. Maybe not in a long while, but you have. You may not remember, but at least once in your life, you saw something, read something, heard something... and it instantly resonated with you. Some little bit of information suddenly aligned all the stars in your brain where suddenly, something that never made sense to you fell completely into place.

It could have been a line in a movie, a verse in the bible, an annoying radio jingle. Somebody, somewhere, for some reason, said exactly what you were thinking but couldn't put words to.

This is one value of art. Art in an infinite number of incarnations from film to dance to ketchup on sidewalk is somewhere between thought and feeling and hearing someone say it is good for us.

No matter who you are there is something you cannot say. Whether you can't find the words or you don't even know how much you need to say them....

...someone on this planet knows exactly how you feel, and can say it so much better because they can still speak.

We, our species, we all come into this world screaming. Our first act as independent beings is to bitch. Our first lesson is, in a lifelong series, what we should not bitch about: (ie, you must only bitch for comfort and nutrition).

Of course we also express joy, which of course, followed by rules on when we should not do that: not to make others feel bad don'cha know.

Finally when we are done listing the rules to ourselves what we shouldn't express about love, friendship, community, government, religion, etc., we just stop expressing. If someone CAN take me the wrong way, I better not...

It used to be, if somebody MIGHT take me the wrong way, ... oh, well, I can deal w/that if it comes up, but as egos get ruffled, as primeval competitive instincts arise... **** happens.

Silence happens. "

Rec'd.

We come into life "bitching" about everything thats wrong. From this point
forward, shouldn't we focus on teaching one another how to set goals, so we
never have to "bitch" about it again? Can't we work together to teach each
other, the art that is learning?

The most important part of human interaction, is action. When you take
that away, only the power of the spoken word remains. There will be
those who seek to misuse it, and those who use it properly. More often
than not, we allow ourselves to be effected by the agressive few who misuse
the power of the spoken word. Shame on them. Furthermore, shame
on us, for not keeping control of ourselves.

What comes in, goes out. Positivism in, positivism out. Control your
individual input, and you'll control your emotions. Control your emotions
and you've taken the first step towards becoming a "Great One". When
we can control our emotions, the abrasion between us as individuals will
no longer be a factor in our behavior. We should all seek to bring
ourselves this control, and from here we should grow into a being which
helps preserve a positive cause for his followers.

This is the responsibility of being a human leader.

Yes, Sir. Constant chess game battle royal between the white & black dogs within my soul. The one I say 'sic 'em' to generally wins.

No, hasn't been necessary. She's taking some better medication now,

so probably won't require another intervention session until October.
