When I have left over pie crust, I roll it out and cut it in circles, about the size of a drinking glass. Bake them until done and then spread jelly on them....very good.
My mom used to call them "tarts".

We prefer to eat it slathered with butter and sprinkled with sugar....to which you may add cinnamon before rolling it up. But in Norway they may like jelly or lingonberries. I like jelly! We prefer it warmed up a little in the microwave before spreading the butter on it. Hot coffee is all you need for a filling meal.
I am surprised you know lefser! I had never heard about them until I moved to Norway. Good stuff! Hmmm, maybe I'll have to buy some now.
Originally posted by ale1552I am lazy and don't have a griddle, so I buy them. There are several different brands and kinds of lefser out there, and they are of varying quality. I really like Salangslefsa, a thin lefse with butter, sugar and cinnamon. And then there's møsbrømlefse, a speciality of the Salten region (which is where I live), which you can get at some cafés or restaurants here and which looks like this: http://flickr.com/photos/23298741@N04/2658560787 I only had it two or three times and can't quite decide whether I like it or not... I have never seen lefse with jelly or lingonberries.
