I'm also old enough to remember Robert Silverberg's story about a robot Pope, which was also made into a comic-book story in some magazine in the 1970s.

If we can't trust ourselves, then I'm not sure we should trust LLMs trained on our past behavior to govern or guide us. 😉

I think it's now fair to say this: at one time you asked me not to disclose your real name. So far I have not done so, and am not threatening to do so, and have no intention to do so. I only mention that to point out your incomprehensible lack of understanding regarding a certain recent situation.

And as for people who have belatedly tried to advise me: "That's just Internet 101" -- I have been on the internet since the 300-baud modem days, since the days of Gopher and BBMs and AOL and IRC, so is it me who is over-sharing, or others who are taking advantage?

You don't live where I live. You don't seem to understand the fear I might have had, that some character 12 or so timezones away might have escalated further to the point of calling my neighbors to turn them against me, or even to follow up from his DOXXING to have me SWATTED and possibly shot dead by police responding to a reported "situation".

Very disappointing that someone who once asked me to keep his identity a secret did not seem to understand.
