In the United States we use the Dewey Decimal System (mostly in public libraries) and the Library of Congress System (mostly in university libraries).

I'm interested to know what indexing systems are used in other countries.

Canada uses the DDS (nothing to do with dental surgery of course).😲

An unusual interest. Are you a librarian yourself?

Over the past months of lockdown we’ve had a little window into of a corner of lots of people’s homes on our news programs. There’s often a bookshelf behind the person being interviewed. I try to read the titles of any books they have on show.

I have a few books, no idea how many though? haven’t bought one in years.

What might you put on your pride of place shelf for us to see then?

Oh, what to chose? My RHS Encyclopaedia of Plants & Flowers, The Bride Stripped Bare by Janet Hobhouse plus a few other art books, The Blank Slate by Steven Pinker and my 2 wooden drawing manikins in a casual pose 🙂

No need for a publicity manager there. Maybe you should set up doing other people's (although hopefully no future demand 🤞).
