I origionally remember hearing it in an Aerosmith song, but they're guarenteed to have stolen it from someone else:
life's a journey, not a destination
But to what extent can I beleive ailing rockers who've got more drugs in them than Columbia? The reason I ask is because I have a good job that although not perfect is better than anything else I've ever had in challenge, money & enjoyment (sometimes). I'm concidering quitting, throwing all I've got & worked for so far in order to go to university and train to be a doctor.
My dilemma is obvious. Do I stick with the safe and comfortable, which I see as the destination life because I can see exactly where I'm going with it, or do I throw it waway and go for the 'journey'. Both ways scare me - one could be a life of tedium. The other might be equally bad or worse, or I might even not get through med school and be left with nothing.
Any thoughts? Anyone done something similar??
If you can find a way to do it - follow your dream!
I wish I could, I think about it frequently.
If there's any possible way, then let your heart tell you where to go. Worse comes to worse, you find you dont want to be a doctor, you've learned something about yourself. You add that experience to who you are, and start looking for something new.
But, in the meantime, you've done something most of us only wish we could do - following that dream in the first place.
Life is a journey, and its full of questions, take "the road less travelled by- that will make all the difference". (with apologies to Robert Frost for borrowing his masterpiece).
