My limited knowledge of genetics leads me to this question..."Is there any way that skin pigmentation could show up generations later?" In other words, in other instances than this particular situation, is it possible that a donor could be white and didn't know he had the gene for dark skin?

It brings to mind another question..."Are sperm banks responsible for the appearance of every recessive gene?"

It would seem to me that when it comes to reproduction, there are no guarantees...I'm almost certain that my ex would like our children to look like less of me than him...

...hmmmmm....many questions...

Concerning you last comment re: you children's looks, perhaps plastic surgery....seems to be, along with tattoos, the thing to do.
