The beauty of China, HucklberryH!

Enough to make any grown man cry!

Yue Yue, the girl who shamed China, is dead: Two-year-old run over TWICE as dozens of people ignored her lying in the road succumbs to her injuries. Announcement of her death quickly became the most talked about topic on China's version of Twitter.

The Chinese girl left bleeding in a road after being run over by two different vehicles and then ignored by 18 passersby has finally died.

Horrific video footage emerged earlier this week of two-year-old Wang Yue - known as Yue Yue - being knocked down by a van in Foshan, a city in the southern province of Guandong.

As she bleeds on the narrow street more than a dozen people walk or cycle past her for the next seven minutes before a second truck runs over her.
The toddler was eventually taken to hospital and survived for more than a week before eventually dying of brain failure. Both drivers who ran over the girl have been arrested.

Warning: emotionally disturbing footage.

Fancy that, Asians that are poor drivers. 😕

If you think that child's death is something to make jokes about, you're sick in the head.

One event watched by dozens of people is grounds to tarnish 1.3 billion?

Retarded stuff...even from you.

Apparently the Chinese population has become fearful of helping strangers since a judge decided to force a Good Samaritan to pay the victim's medical bills, on the grounds that if he helped the victim he must have caused the injuries.

High-profile lawsuits have ended with Good Samaritans ordered to pay hefty fines to individuals they sought to help.

In Guangdong, where Yue Yue lived her brief life, the local party branch and government are .. discussing a new law to make it illegal for people to ignore strangers in distress.

I can't imagine what could possibly be going through the people's minds that saw the baby lying in traffic..

Hmmmmm... It's probably going to be difficult to help? It's probably dead already anyway? Any of the people I know would have risked their lives to save it.

sad storey, but where on earth where her parents? a 2 year old should not be allowed to roam freely on the streets. if charges are to be forth coming then start with parents.

It wasn't a public road, it was inside a market of some sort, but I agree that she shouldn't have been unsupervised there.

Most states in the US have a law saying if you come upon a motor vehicle accident, you must stop and render what aid you can. If it is somehow documented that you did not stop to help, you could lose your license (in theory, never heard of it actually happening).

In California, many years ago I was involved in a vehicle accident. I only had very minor injuries to myself, and provided some basic first-aid to a couple of children who had more serious injuries. I was not related to them and didn't know their parents or anything, so they were strangers to me.

When law enforcement officersarrived and were taking statements, I mentioned my actions. The officer advised me that I should not volunteer that I had done anything like that, because I was opening myself up to lawsuits if there were any medical complications.

So much for trying to be a good samaritan.

You did the right thing. Doing the right thing sometimes involves risks.

Wouldn't you rather be a Good Samaritan than a Cynical Cop?
