I have heard reports of 50,000 dying each day!

I don't think he has much choice does he?

You've heard incorrectly.

50,000 is the daily rate of people positive with Covid. (Not dying).

Daily deaths are still horribly high at around 700 a day.

Thank you for the correction on that goad. 50,000 cases a day is really getting up there though isn't it.

700 is not as high as I had understood also not good, but I think he probably is doing the right thing to close things down at least for a certain period of time.

May God bless and look after you all even if you don't believe! I remember to include everyone all over the world in my nightly prayers.

The vaccine is coming.

Until then, need to safeguard the most vulnerable. A lockdown is unavoidable.

I concur, Our problem here in Canada is not near what you have right now in the U.K. and the U.S are dealing with. We are a smaller population, but our cases are going up especially out west. I live in Eastern Canada in a Province of Under 1 million people.

They have actually opened things up where you can go in and sit down at places like MacDonald's, Tim Horton's, and I believe some other restaurants. This is in Nova Scotia only. Even when things were shut down for awhile we were still able to drive through the Tim's or McDonald's. So I consider us to be very fortunate so far. I don't sit in and probably will not for some time to come.

I believe they are still keeping children out of school for 2 more weeks as there were a few outbreaks in some schools. It is a kind of wait and see right now. I know your front line workers must be exhausted.

Down here in Trinidad and Tobago about 40 new cases daily and 3 deaths per week in a pop of 1.3M. Social distancing, wearing of masks is the law. Some businesses like bars and restaurants do take away only. Online schools only.

My employer has decided to ignore all rules regarding working from home through tiers 3, 4, and no doubt for this lockdown.

Sadly, I need to work to live and provide for my family, so I still go in.

Capitalism over Humanity at every choice.

My choice is to leave in 2021, find something new, but that sort of employer is why covid is spreading so badly in the UK.

I've been there for nearly 14 years, so a disappointing last 8 months.

Horrible to feel prevented from doing what you feel is right.

Massive disparity between what people say is going on and what is going on. I don't see any distancing in shops. I still see people handling goods and then putting them back on the shelves. We need a bit of leadership and a bit of clarity on what will be enforced and what is needed.

I’ve just read that construction and the trades are still permitted into houses so my renovation can continue. Meanwhile everyone is locked up so the streets are clear. Seems chilled πŸ˜†

Report them, anonymously of course.

What type of work do you do, if I may ask?

Accountancy - and virtually every other person in my profession are either working fully from home, or a mix of home working and office days.

If I report them, and they get closed down, then I am cutting my nose off to spite my face - so instead I do what I can to distance at work, and plan on my exit strategy.

Do people wear masks in the office?

Reporting them would more likely lead to a warning (and hopefully a rethink on their part) but I appreciate the element of risk it might pose to your ongoing employment.
