Did anyone write the moves down for their games? I'd hate to think I'm the only geek big enough to pound beers and take game notes.

LOL ... You should have seen James (the funky mover leader) and myself mulling over some French openings whilst everyone else was doing the same (did I mention that we did that on one board only !!!!!!) ... Great fun

New York would be a b1tch to get to if you live on the west coast, and Chicago is too dangerous. Going to New Orleans would be like a visit to Sea World, and in Las Vegas there'd be too many hookers. Acapulco would be a b1tch to get to for our Canadian friends, and Montreal is too far north for members who reside in the Southern U.S. Phoenix sounds like an okay locale, but I recommend Lincoln, Nebraska. It's nice and centralized.

You put Montreal, but not Toronto? Both cities are the best Canada has to offer, plus it is a lot closer to the middle

You can always come to my town, no shortage of beer here, just people 😉

I almost picked Tononto...

There should be a huge list of cities... I think there are more RHP users on the east coast than West, so center isn't a great idea in my mind... unless a vote proves otherwise.

Chicago too dangerous?? How about St Louis then? Go Cardinals!

I vote for San Francisco, at the famous Mechanic's Institute Chess Club.

I like NY, but just because it's close to me, so I'd probably be able to go.

I'd like New York City, but it'd have to be sometime during the summer so I could make it. 😛

If you're serious about this thing, I'd suggest an East Coast meeting and a West Coast Meeting. East Coast would be somewhere fairly central between Montreal, and Florida - maybe Washington, DC. West Coast would be somewhere fairly central like San Francisco, or possibly Denver to pull in folks from midwest as well.

Just my 2 cents....

In that case, I vote for Denver. I live an hour away by driving.

I'm sure there was some cheating going on during the chess games. I definately saw people doing things with their hands under the tables. I think porto-Fritses were the order of the day!

What was, by the way, that Spanish bar about?

I vote for NYC. It is an hour further than Washington, but worth the extra travel. I also know plenty of people I could stay with in New York, and no one that I would want to stay with in DC.
