How did you guys get to London? Who went furthest? How long was your trip... stories?

Here in the US... any number of us would have to travel a great deal to get to one or 3 places. I'm interested in what you guys had to do to get to London.

I really hope you guys get a meeting together in the US. On friday night i had a mild panic attack as i realised the meeting was the following day. It was a zillion times more successful than i could possibly ever have hoped! There will definately be a London meet 2006!!

The way I would have got there by myself (if I haden't been picking up angie) would have been the tube; it would have taken around 40 minutes.

I took a bus shuttle at 7 AM in Heidelberg, caught my flight in Frankfurt at 10:10 AM, arrived in London at 10:50 AM (nice time shift 😉), took the tube (with Freddie) to King's Cross, met up with Shavi, took the tube to the pub, walked around looking for the pub with Shavi and Freddie. Took a cab to the hostel at 2 AM, woke up again at 5 AM, caught the tube at 7 AM and reversed the whole journey 😉

Edit: Do I win?

I walked out my door, got the 414 bus (from Warwick Avenue), and 10 minutes later I was 2 minutes' walk away from the pub. Getting home was slightly, but not much, more complicated, and only because it was late and I was exuberantly pissed.

Do I lose then?

Hmmm, still want to revisit London again. And if I have a job by then, maybe I will be present.

I got on the C3 bus to Earl's Court, then got the tube to Paddington where I met Russ in The Pride of Paddington and we then wandered over to the proper pub.

Further than most, but on a direct train with a ten minute walk at each end. Did get to see someone complaining to the staff outside one of the cafes on Edgware Road that he'd slipped because it was wet on the pavement as he was leaving.

I took a tram from Leidschendam to the Hague. A train to Schiphol airport Amsterdam. A plane to London Luton. A train to King's cross. And everything went well.

UNTIL I relied on Freddie and Angie for the remainder of the trip to the pub.
Never, in my many days, have I been confronted with such gross incompetence...

It was all Angie's fault. She forgot her travel card. Then she forgot the map to the pub. How is that incompetance on my behalf? 😲😲

Of course you wouldn't! Then again, I didn't get lost taking you to Edgware did I?

I took the train from Surbiton to Waterloo and then the Bakerloo line to Edgware Road. It took me about an hour door to door on the way out and 45 mins on the way back. I am gutted I didn't stay for the tapas and if I'd have lived anywhere tubier to get to I would have 🙁
