Hello
I am running OSX 10.4.5 and I want to change the icons on some of my folders on my desktop from the standard blue folder. Could someone tell me how to do this? This is the first thing I have found on OSX that seems to be more complicated than XP so I am sure I am just missing something here.
Any imput appreciated

Please don't just post "apple.com" as a response to this, if you don't know the answer please don't feel the need to post. There are many mac users on the site and I am sure one will know the specific answer.
How's this then?

Google is a fabulous tool.

To select the icon you wish to use:
1. Click on the icon you wish to use
2. Click on Finder – Edit – Copy

Check whether that folder is locked or not and check the read & write permissions.

Your Mac can smell XP on you and won't cooperate. It knows you're a traitor.
You can probably use a program like ResEdit. You might be able to change the 'default' folder picture to a different one you have created yourself for each and every folder you will create in the future. In OS 9 you could just open the System file and change the pictures. I don't know if it goes that easily with OS 10. You have to look to know which file to open.
But this is a dangerous thing to play around with. Be sure to make a back up of your entire hard drive in case you mess up your system.
