Edit the song how? I think you could bring it into iMovie and split it at a certain point, if that's what you mean. But I'm not really certain.

Audacity is a program that will do the job for you...load up the mp3, edit, cut, change volume, add effects, and then save as an mp3 again, and import back into iTunes...

It's free, just google it
