Personally i think that mascherano is the best. the way he reads the game and breaks up play un-noticed is incerdible. only when he does not play does one miss him. his attacking play has improved and his sliding tackles are world class!!! Contenders are Cambiasso, Hargreaves, Gattuso, Flamini and Diarra, however, his positional sense and game reading are simply extraordinary!!
