Massage sexism

I’m currently enjoying a short break away with Mrs divegeester and where we are staying has a spa with all these mysterious “treatments”, none of which make any sense to me. Anyway I booked a 45 minute slot and hoped for the best.

Now I’ve had lots of “treatments” in the past and it’s all very nice, (actually it’s extremely nice) and it occurred to me that the people doing these treatments are predominantly female, young and usually quite attractive. There never seems to be a 40 year old overweight hairy Greek guy doing the “treatment”.

I think it is better the way it is.

After your "massage" the young and attractive woman probably said...

"How come its always old ugly guys who get massages and not young and attractive men?" 😉

I guess you would need data on how many overweight hairy 40 year old Greek guys applied for the job, but what if they didn't even bother to apply due to their awareness of a culture of systemic sexism?

You know, unless you'd prefer a "40 year old overweight hairy Greek guy doing the 'treatment'." Otherwise, it sounds to me a case of "what the market will bear". Go ask the owner of the spa why he doesn't hire "a 40 year old overweight hairy Greek guy doing the 'treatment'." He'll no doubt say that he has to provide what the public wants. Then he'll probably also say that that he can bring in his cousin Anatoli if you have your heart set on that. For an extra "fee", of course.
