Well, tomorrow is the day. My band is heading to the semi-finals for the national Extreme Band Slam contest in downtown Toronto. I'm a little nervous, and a little excited. If we place in the top 2 of 7 bands tomorrow, we get to duke it out for the big prize on Saturday with the 3 other top bands.

We're called Daylight for Deadeyes, and we play fairly straight-ahead rock. You can check out some tunes on the website, www.daylightfordeadeyes.com.

I disagree somewhat. Obviously the amount of crap that's peddled over mainstream airwaves is ginormous, however a band need not "go platinum" or have their music plastered all over the airwaves to "make it". A truly successful band can be measured by their loyal fanbase, the success of their touring, and the quality of their albums and not necessarily the amount of money being thrown into their pockets by crooked record companies.
