Went to see them last night.

Testament were great, and Megadeth stole the show. I was slam dancing for nearly two hours, feeling the pain now, but it was worth it.

I never understood the appeal of megadeth until I listened to them one night while I was tripping. With the volume turned all the way up I could feel the wind coming from the speakers.

So not only did it sound like flatulence but it felt like it too?

YEEEHAAA !!!
Megadeth still rockS.

and Testament WAS great.

A band is considered one unit, and so takes the singular. To take the plural, you'd have to be talking about more than one band.

"Megadeth and Testament were great."

Wow, that was a buzzkill, ya crazy lil pedant.

Megadeth Rocked, as in "For those about to Rock", therefore singular.

Testament "were" great in past tense, as in last night they were playing, not they was playing.

No, no.

When referring to the band, the singular is used. There is only one band.

If you were to talk about the members of the band, then you use the plural.

"Man, that band rocks! Aren't they great?"

or

"Testament was great while they were playing."

See the difference?

Go tell someone at a concert, "Whoa, that band rock" and enjoy the weird looks.

It's the same usage if you are talking about a company or corporation, which is a specific entity, or its employees.

"Ford Motor Company enjoys significant market share, while its employees maintain consistently high production standards."

If you don't believe me, go ask Nordlys... lol.
