And what makes you say that? Please give some arguments for why you think that the egg was there before the chicken came to being...

I'm currently reading a book that is called: 'The world of Sofie', written by 'Jostein Gaarder' a Norwegian writer...it's a novel about the history of philosophy and it's very interesting, there should be a translation in English arround, because it is translated to Dutch from Norwegian as well...🙂

I have a metal plate in my head. My friend used to call me lead-head. In bowling, he typed my name on the scorecard screen as led. So here I am.

well, since these are purely matters of physics (though those biologists and chemists will no doubt try to lay claim to this like they always do), most answers will probably be found in my comprehensive posts dealing with many such significant issues in the physics is phirst thread.

however, considering that practically all particles elementary or otherwise are shaped more like an egg than a chicken and indeed the original structure of the big bang source is also shaped more like an egg than a chicken and the fact that the vast majority of chickens themselves, due to barbaric agri-methods are no longer shaped like chickens, the evidence would seem to weigh in favor of the egg.

one can perhaps ask, can a chicken come not from an egg - and let's not clone around about this - and can an egg come not from a chicken? the answers contained within these questions may prove to be sufficient to a large extent.

in friendship,
prad

Strictly speaking, one generation of chicken is genetically and evolutionarily different from the previous one. Thus we must take on generation (or, we can be close and take a bunch) as 'reference chickens' and say they are the only real chickens. Whatever laid the first of these was not a chicken, but something slightly different, regardless of which generation we designate. Thus the egg came before the chicken.
