A man walks into an ironmongers and asks for a bottle of meths.
The man serving said "I've heard about you before, I'm not going to sell you a bottle because I know you'll drink it!"
"I'm a carpenter and I need a bottle urgently for a job", replied the customer.
"I don't believe you", said the man serving.
The customer vehemently replied "No, honest it's for a job".
The man serving looked at him with an anxious face and reluctantly agreed.
As he walked into the back room for the bottle, the customer shouted behind him "you haven’t got a cold one have you".

Heard a story from a mate recently about the chem lab at his place of work, four of the cleaners working there had jaffed (nicked, stolen) a bottle of methanol, and drank it. Two went home to sleep it off, two went to a shabine (off licence, off legal, all hours shanty drinking establishment) to continue the party.
The two that went home died in their sleep, the two that went off partying survived.
Apparently the ethanol in the booze acted as a competing agent to the meth and helped filter it through their system.
Personally I believe severe stupidity should hurt.
