Michael Moore livened up an otherwise moribund Oscar award show with the scathing anti-war/anti-Bush speech he delivered when he accepted his Oscar for Bowling for Columbine. The audience apparently didn't like being roused from their stupor and gave him a large round of boos for his efforts. If you haven't seen Bowling for Columbine yet, I would highly recommend it. Michael Moore is one of the few people in hollywood willing to deviate from the party line to such an extent.
He has also directed the new video for the song Boom, by System of a Down. It's a very anti-war video which uses a lot of protest footage. If you're interested, you can watch the video at the link below:

That was a great movie, but if you only need one reason to see it, it makes Charleton Heston come off like the complete horse's a$$ that he is.
Oh, and the reason why Moore is probably more involved than others in Hollywood is that he doesn't live in Hollywood (he lives one floor above my girlfriend here in NYC.)๐
