Yes we are, so far. It seems to be escalating into civil war, and even where we live now is on a state of emergency. Most of Thailand is. It's incredible..... not from the amazing point of expression.
We are ok! I maintain we will be ok..... but maybe I'm being a bit blind. My parents are overwhelmingly concerned at the world's point of view... which I don't get here! If the crap hits the fan we have our own car and can drive and drive away from troubles, maybe even to Laos or Burma - the lesser of two evils and maybe even Hobson's choice to tide us over.
It is getting worrysome yes Steve. I never thought I would hear myself believe that such a country as this could escalate into such mayhem so quickly. The red-shirts seem to have forgotten their Buddhist roots - and are all out for MONEY - nothing else now. This isn't about over-throwing an un-elected government now - it's about letting in the creep Thaksin - to get some of his money back - hand a little to his protestors - the poors from the rice fields (whom exist in every Asian country)..... and get back into another even more corrupt government. I hope that this government does not give in and dissolve itself.
