Suppose, you are a 1300 like I am and you win of a 1500. You will earn a lot of points then...The winner takes not exactly the same amounts as the oponnent looses. You win 24 points and the opponents loose 25 points. Where is that one point ?? Is it going to this website or to its owners (Russ and Chriss) ???

No, the points don't go to the owners.

How did you calculate how many points each player will gain and lose? The formula should give an equal amount of points gained and lost (unless the players are in different K bands).

This is only a rounding matter. The method for calculating rates use real numbers. But at the end of the calculation you must round the result to an integer.

But large numbers of points enter and leave the system with every provisional vs. non-provisional game. Any other loss or gain pales in insignificance compared to that change.

Actually they go to Bowmann, who doesn't play any games, but his rating goes up nearly every time he posts in the forums...

Yes it is! It's a matter of life and death. As to speak with Magaret Thatcher:"I want my points back!" :'(

For the rest of us: Yes I agree with Sake....it just is theft....lol
Armageddon arrived.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think the total ratings won and lost per game add up to 32 [or 16 if provisional players are involved] This is different with ratings above a certain limit.
