It reminds me of when I was younger and thought that the sea always got a darker colour the further away it was. Your "Painting of a rock", I cannot understand, let alone make out the rock in it.
How can it be? Please explain?
I know you are probably going towards the 'modern art is crap and so is your work, there's the link' joke but if not do explain, let's hear some art knowledge from Xanthos.
Some of your photo's I'll admit look alright, particularly the sun ones. But the rest look as though they have been taken with a disposable camera and some just seem a little bland, not what you'd call eye-catching photography.
Perhaps you'd like to explain the basis behind some of your paintings and portraits and explain why you think they are good.

How about using a digital camera or a webcam to take pics of it and put them up?
Easier just to buy her a scanner and she can scan them in when done and send them over.
To be fair I think the photographs are alright, I just think my sisters portraits / drawings are better.
As for that photoshop image, well lets just say I am worlds worst artist / photoshop user and I could probably do that.

Mine happens to be a simplyfied, colourful way and how they interact with each other.

My portraits are the only ones I have ever done, and I have not had experience with doing them before, so it would be like someone who doesn't do art picking up a pencil and drawing someone. I think they are good standard for first goes at portrait drawings and the people that gave me photo's to do them really liked them aswell. It is all about pleasing the client with your work when you do something specifically asked like that.
Hows that for starters?

I could make some kickass modern art with 40 squid.
40 bux worth of paint, throw it on a wall
grid up some veg and throw that on for some texture
summon the rain gods for 5 mintues worth of drizzle
put a busker in front on it
photgraph it
photoshop it, apply some filter effects
job done
