So what kind of activities like sports......ice hockey? I guess that is the kind of setting wherein you will need a friend.

Actually the weather is quite unpleasant, it's raining all the time. A real winter would be much nicer (although using crutches is a lot easier without ice and snow). And the next time we'll see the sun will be some time in January. So don't complain.
