Not true.

If you are downtown, the west end, or the West Island, then this is usually true. However, if you go to the east end of the city, you will deliberately not be spoken to in English.

So is MacGill on the western side of town ?

I would love to play an OTB game with you when I get to Montreal. That will not be for a couple of months I am guessing.
