But, Ok. For the sake of argument, let's say I HATE Akron/Family. Right then. So you ask why. And I answer: they are crap. The words do nothing for me. The music does nothing for me. They are different from the bands I like. I dislike them so much, I have to say I HATE them.

Oh I see. I checked out some of their stuff since they are on Michael Gira's label. Not too shabby, although I wasn't particularly impressed either. But apparently they are more of a live band.

Have to nitpick. Television if anything pre-dated punk rock. They certainly were not post-punk.

I'd like to nitpick too and say that the Arctic Monkeys sound nothing like Television or anything else from that era.

Even though Television was formed before '77, their sound become a huge influence on the postpunk movement so that they themselves are usually categorized as postpunk (not that it really matters).

Well, Arctic Monkeys are clearly not as good as Television.
