I was recently reading the Most Dissappointing Thread(good question StarValleyWy) and it made me realize that, as usual, the bad things that happen in the world are given more attention than I would like. We see ad news on the television and in the papers. What I would like to know is what each of us had seen that brings some inspiration that perhaps people as a whole aren't so bad.

The resettlement of Sudanese refugees to this country. Far and away the most rewarding experience of my life. When I think I've got it bad I see how positive these people are who have lost everything. If there are some in your community, I encourage you to befriend them. Kirk

That's a very good response. I will be sure to befriend any that come to my area. As I was mentioning though, everyone is stuck on bad news. There has only been one post(thank you kirksey) in two days.

Try Bono (from U2). Now, in one respect, he's a bit of a egotist, but you kind of expect that with a multimillion selling pop star: after all, its his buisness to sell himself as it were.

On the other, he's made genuine imact for the betterment of a huge number of peoples lives using his 'celeb' status to effect political change.

Now, celeb status is something that normally I'd ridicule as an example of the general weakness of humanity in what we respect in others: in this case, the ability to photo well and look good in shades (plus some splendid tunes I'll admit). But in Bono's case, he's gone on to use it simply as a tool to get a task done that needs doing and that nobody else was going to.

Add to that our western childish system of 'your gang verus our gang' of politics, it is good to see somebody outwith politics have such an infuence on the political system. More of that from everyone else please!
