This is probably the most discussed topic in the forums. I think the
general consensus is the burden needs to begin with the person who
has not moved to ask their opponent for extra time due to a trip or
whatever. I think you'll find most are willing to comply if you ask. If
they get hostile about it, you don't want to play them anyway. But you
cannot assume everyone is going to just "sit on it" especially since yu
have advertized that you're good! Kirk
I agree with KIRK on this one! some people cant get to the computer
but, if you would let your opponent know that was they know that you
are not just sitting on the game and waiting. Also Alot of people have
claimed movetimeouts due to the fact that the person they are
playing is better! in my opinion that is crap if you choose a timeoute
you should stick to it and at least send the person a reminder!!!

When we enter into a game, we assume a certain amount of
responsibility. We should know what the time-out limit is, and if we
can't handle it, don't start the game.
If something unforseen comes up, we can communicate with out
opponent and let them know in advance if we will be unable to move
in the time allowed. After that, it is up to them to do the right thing,
or not. I think most people will show some consideration.
However, if we do not have the common courtesy to let them know,
then we shouldn't complain if we lose to a time-out victory.
As far as sending move reminders, I personally quit doing it. I never
saw where it did any good, and after further consideration, I decided
not to even bother to try and do it anymore.
If my opponent isn't responsible enough to move in the alloted time
of communicate with me about why they will be unable to move, too
bad. I'll claim the victory and move on to another game with
someone who wants to play.
