Gah! The lil'woman 'made' me watch this with her last night... I should have declined! I can't believe anyone would enjoy this movie!
Don't get me wrong, it was interesting.... but don't expect any kind of a happy ending. Suffer, Suffer, Suffer!
So there I am, fighting back tears for almost 2 hours... and it finally ends. Why!? Did you enjoy that movie!? How?! Why!?!? If I ever watch a 'chick flick' again, you better believe it's going to be romantic comedy... and not this tragic crap.
I just don't get why someone would write a story like that, or why someone would enjoy a movie like that.... I'm still all emotionally whacked from it.......

Originally posted by PhlabibitI thought the movie was briliantly written and acted, and I applaud it for going against all conventions of the typical Hollywood-contrived good vs. evil conflict. The beauty of this movie is that all of these people are real, no one is cast as the villain. Both of them have a claim to the house, and both of them need it. The tragedy that happens in the movie, happens because of one character who is much weaker morally than all the rest.

It's probably not a movie I would want to see more than once, but to me it was very moving and powerful.
I forgot to mention "A League Of Their Own". At the end of the movie, when Madonna's "This Used To Be My Playground" starts playing, I invariably lose it. I am very nostalgic, so seeing the pictures of the girls during their prime, intercut with action footage of the older women playing ball in the present really connects with me.
