I have a list of hyperlinks saved in a document for easy access. However, when I try to open them, it says 'cannot find server or proxy server'. WTF? How can I configure it so that when I click on the hyperlink, it just takes me straight to the web page?
Thanks in anticipation
Jim
Took me right there.

Oh and type =rand(100,100) in a blank document and hit enter
Originally posted by Daemon SinWell I've tried it. Still no joy. The error message has now gone but when I click on a link, the 'wait' egg timer appears and nothing happens.

I think I'll just have to live without hyperlinks in Word.
Cheers dude.

Is it opening your typical browser that you always use? or is it opening Internet Explorer and you may be a firefox user? As Word uses the LAN settings of the default browser (hmmm.. actually.. i'm going by assumption there as I use IE.. I'm assuming it would open firefox if that was your default browser.)
Originally posted by MIODudeI am using FF. Sorry, should have said so before. I think the thread that was posted before that led to the link was intended to correct this little problem. It suggested for users using a browser other than IE, that a small change to be made in the registry. However, I have made this change and it still doesn't work.

Anyways, if anyone can solve this, I'm sure you can.
Cheers
