Is there a difference between a muffin and a cupcake? If so, please explain and join my clan. 🙂

Cupcakes have icing or are served with cream. Normally made from a vanilla or chocolate sponge (like) mixture.

Muffins usually have fruit or soemthing else in the mixture.

Well at least that is my explanation.

Would pumpkin count as "something else"?

Technically pumpkin is a fruit, so it would count for a muffin

My wife keeps calling them cupcakes!! I was going to punch her in the mouth but then I remembered she's stronger than I am. 😛

LOL !!!!

Common mistake. If I ever get married my wife is not cooking in MY kitchen without me knowing 🙂 I fully intend only doing what I enjoy most, cooking.

For some reason most married (well all but 1) females i know want to and take full prosession of the kitchen.

So I guess that it is your recipe ??

I burnt toffee then put my finger in the overcooked 200 degrees mixture....how stupid is THAT.
And microwave meals all the way. All you need is a microwave 😀

I don't like cup cakes, but I love muffins. I made cupcake soup once. I don't know how that happened.

Where I used to work a few years ago you could buy packeted muffins by a company called the fabulous Baker bros. The slogan on the wrappers was a reference to Fanny Craddocks (a cook) muffins.

The slogan read.

The fabulous baker bros muffins. Juicier than Fanny's

This pun on words in the slogan could be lost on any non-brits

Edit:- And I really love muffin first thing in the morning
