Hello There,

My girlfriend is doing a year abroad in Munich and I am going to visit her in a few weeks time (we are both from Arizona, USA). I was wondering if anyone knew of any places to pick up a game of chess in Munich. Any advice is appreciated.

Leave her. If she is now with another broad, it's a lost cause. Unless you can talk them into letting you in their relationship. 😕

Chesspraxis is right, forget her, go to the Oktoberfest, Munich beer festival, taste some real amber nectar and enjoy yourself, begins late September.

Your girlfriend is doing a year abroad.

You are going to visit her in a few weeks time.

However when you get to Munich you want to go and play chess!!!

Now we know why your girlfriend is doing a year abroad 🙄

Save your money, dump your girlfriend and pay for a sub to RHP.

the same thought passed through my mind.

i've come up with the following possibilities.

either

a. he's secretly gay.

b. been cheating on her in the states.

c. she's really, really ugly.

d. he was molested as a child in germany and is scarred.

e. was muled by a spunk hungry chimp.

f. she's a hooker and he doesn't want to catch any german std's.

g. is scared of getting her pregnant and having a nazi child.

h. his girlfriend is also his daughter and he's been having some second thoughts.

From my little book, a couple of contacts..check your map for locality. I'm afraid I'm unaware of any outdoor gatherings, I shall ask those that may well know:
Club: Schachburg
City, Country: Munich, Germany
Address: Alfonsstrasse.3 Munich
Contact: 089/1291337
Meeting Times: every day from 3.00 p.m to 12 p.m.
Comments: every level from weak player to grandmaster, open to everyone and for fun !

Club: TSV Forstenried
City, Country: Munich, Germany
Address: Graubundenerstrasse. 100
Contact: Luhn_Luhn@t-online.de
Meeting Times: 1st and 3rd Monday in the month, 19.00 and every Thursday 19.00
Comments: all you can drink - coolest club in the world - german beer for 1/2 the US price. Everyone welcome.

Thanks for the advice guys....
I am going to be there for a couple of weeks and will have time to myself to explore the city. Drinking beer and playing chess is not a bad way to spend an afternoon in a city that you have never been to before. If there is another woman in her life, I will be sure to see what we all can arrange though.
