I wondered how many people here make their living with music?
I work in a music store as a manager/salesman. I play most instuments, but not all that well. I am a decent guitar and keyboard player, and love music and my job.
Any others?

one called the Israeli Dulcimer society, still going strong after ten years, based in Jerusalem and another, the Arizona dulcimer society, also going strong. Google in Susan Jennings, it should come up with the Kibbutz Tzora where she is listed.
I played for quite a long time in a band in LA called Southwind Irish Band, played at some pretty impressive venues, got a gig on a nationally syndicated TV show in 1980, the Lou Grant Show in an episode called Guns, which aired on St. Patricks day so they wrote an Irish Gun runner episode. My band and I were on playing live and did some soundtrack music for the show and got two paychecks as a result. Unfortunately we broke up after that and we drifted east via Scottsdale Arizona and then to Pennsylvania with three years in Israel then back to Pa. I am in the finishing stages of a CD of my own compositions, acoustic, piano, guitar, mandolin and dulcimer.
We have a band here in Pa, called The Gladsmiths, had one all night session where we hammered out an original song and worked up a set lista but have so far only done one house concert as the Gladsmiths.

I play the flute in the subway for coins -which I use for booze.
Does that count?

Je am suis sure I could teach them at least as much as I learned, plus I'd only have to work for 25 minutes a day whilst pulling down a sweet educator's salary!
