Its an 'intelligence gathering' site that can help you find bands you might like (and perhaps have never heard of) based on bands you already like.
Bear in mind that all their data is input by flawed humans, so its not foolproof, but i've found some interesting bands this route.

Shockingly, if you go to the infamous outside you'll find that bands, both new and old, play gigs and festivals all around the world. Find a band playing at nearby venue and go to it! ๐
