I've used the ejay stuff and that sucks! Has anyone ever used reason? I'm looking for something that can do professional mixes

Try http://www.audiotooldirect.com
They have loads of downloadable dj tools and stuff. Might help.

For everthing you want to know about making music on your computer buy Computer Music Mag... they also have forums here:

http://forum.midiaddict.com/

At one time I was the top poster over there... until someone introduced me to RHP.... the rest is history 😉

Reason is a top class program for writing music with, but I'm not sure it would be much use for a live application of DJ mixing. If you wanted to do cut-ups and things I'd recommend Acid from Sonic Foundry, it's really simple to use, and cheap too

Hey kyngj,

My lingo ain't quite there just yet, but i'll work on it. What i meant to say was that i need a program to write electronic music with. I've managed to get a hold of reason and will take a look at it. Thanks for the help.

Gotcha! In that case you should be in a good spot. Try to get hold of a sample editor like soundforge or cakewalk as well, it'll give you a lot of flexibility in adding (quality) effects to the things you do in reason, along with easy cleaning up of samples that aren't quite in time, etc,
