This one I honestly disagree with. American audiences need to realize that scoring points isn't the only exciting part of a sport. There aren't many goals scored in soccer, but there is usually non-stop action.

And I also think it's one of the sports that offers the weaker team the highest chance of winning, which also adds to tension for both sides.
Football is about tension accumulating to explode in orgasmic moments of joy. Besides, the fact that the clock keeps running and therefore time wasting is penalized, the game flows much faster and with much shorter interruptions.
I played basketball and love it, but to watch football is definitely another type of experience.
