An update on the chess club at my kids' elementary school. First week: 4 kids. Week 2: 35 kids! I was overwhelmed. They are predicting as many as 60 next week. Parents are asking what they can do to help. If they don't know how to play, I am asking that they ask their child to help them learn. Even teachers are asking to join. Just an incredible experience. Thanks, all. Kirk

Congratulations! It speaks very well of your ability as a player and a teacher.

Congratulations Kirk. Lucky kids, to have a thoughtful and caring teacher.

nicely done Kirk! I am teaching a chess club at a school for some cash and they have 85! They take up an entire library, a science lab, and an art room! It's incredible! I came in and they thought I was a mini-Kasparov! Asking me all these questions about crazy moves I've never heard of and if en passant was a rule and is this a stalemate, as they tugged on to my shirt! Good thing I like little kids or all hell woulda broken loose. Teaching chess is fun! Congrats Kirk! 😏 😀

I haven't worked that cash angle yet, but then again I'm not nearly as good as you or Kasparov. 😉 Kirk

Congratulations, Kirk. That is actually fairly amazing, considering that my high school of 900 can field a chess team of just 4 people.
