I watched the Oprah show last night. It was pretty disturbing, naturally.
Honestly, I find what she's doing to be very courageous. She's right when she states that she knows there are more women and men out there who also suffered from familial sexual abuse - incest - consensual or not. That trust and love is the foundation for the abuse. It's not like certain people in her life that want it buried love her for bringing it out or she's not getting a backlash reaction. She had very little shame.
Think about it: we knew fathers and mothers do this: it's brave to come out about it - especially when we're talking about adult consensual incest. Talk about taboo.
That woman has had a really hard time of it. Her father was well-known to give her drugs, do them with her and lived by no rules at all.
