My 2nd child is now 2 days overdue (my wife surely has got to pop soon...). And of course, I have had the normal accusations of not taking enough interest during the name choosing process - so now I can legitimately browse around here in the name of research.

My first name is Curry, and it's as strange a name in Sweden as anywhere else. To be precise, there are four of us in the entire country. If you will believe this: one of the three others also carries the same last name as me (Bäckström). We are not related, I don't know who it is but he's right there in the telephone directory. The really weird thing is that he some 15 years ago lived in the neighbourhood where I live now. There are people here who knew him and who can't believe they've met two different people with this (should be) unique name at the same place.

There really ought to be more of us, so please Russ, take the name Curry into consideration if your child is a boy. Oh well, it may be OK for a girl as well. You can try to persuade your wife to accept it after she's breathed some laughing gas at the maternity ward 😀
