a suitcase is a tried and much cooler alternative. better sounding too.

it's just a box. take any box with approximately similar volume, tape a mic inside it, and start hitting it. it'll sound just as bad. like a plastic trash can.

but it's still just a random box with a mic taped into it. the tape's silver colored, I can tell even that with a 99% certainty. it always is with these things.
