Perhaps you should've mentioned that in the first place. Or placed this thread in the correct forum.
I'm only trying to make it easyer for the site leader(s) in creating alkinds of tournaments.
So that's why I'm trying to figure this one out.

I see and read that a lot of people have a different flag up then where they are born / or grew up.
I can understand that if you're born in one country and grew up / live in another country, that it's a matter of feeling.
Your nationalaty stands in your passport, so why play under another flag?
Originally posted by Loose ScrewWell I do. Watch what happens when I join the "Dutch Only" tourney in a protest to the inaction against all those northern invaders in our southern hemisphere tourney. I'll even change my flag just to keep up appearances.
Northern hemisphere, southern hemisphere.
All Dutch tournament.
Follow the threads about those tournaments and I guess you understand what I mean.
That'll get all those dike huggers pulling their fingers out (heh heh)
Besides, Zeeland is almost New Zealand and Tasman was a tulip muncher after all, so I'm eligible, as are all kiwis.

My father's Scottish, his parents being Hungarian and Austrian wartime immigrants; my mother's Welsh, her parents being Irish and South African.
My older brother was born on Malta, my younger brother in Gibralta, my sister in (West) Germany. I was born in England.
The first 3 years of my life were spent in Hong Kong, the next 3 in Kenya, the next 3 in Central America, then Germany and finally canada. Since leaving school, I've lived in England for 4 years, Poland for 7, other Eastern European countries for 3, China for 2, the USA for 2, and Japan for 4 years.
My son and ex-wife#1 are Polish, my daughter, ex-wives#2, #3 & #4 are Japanese.
I have 3 passports (UK, Australian and Polish).
What flag do I fly? The Japanese one because I live here now.
When I go to Germany for the World Cup in June, I'll support England (first), Poland (second) and Japan (third).
Originally posted by Will EverittThat would be mostly europeans.....they could care less about their country as I've discoverd after being here for 4 years....Americans, for the most part, are proud of their country except for the left-wing whackos who live in the U.S.
I would bet money many people are not proud of there country for some reason or another. Its a mistake to assume they are all like you.

This is a really a hard one to call, but I'll give it a shot.
Born in England out of Scottish / Welsh parents, I would say United Kingdom.
You grew up in different countries a few years here and a few years there, I can't imagen that that would give you a bond with one of these countries.
Son and ex-wife in Poland; a daughter and ex-wife(s) in Japan and also living now in Japan. I can imagen that that gives a bond with those countries.
Since you don't live in Poland anymore and don't have a Japanese passport, I still say United Kingdom.
But he, who I'm I for that matter? Aren't there any rules for this?😞
Why can't there be a Confederate Battle Flag for ancestors, such as mine, who fought tyranny and a northern invasion much like the British did during the first war for independence, and to show respect for fallen kin and comrades in this second war for independence. The CSA was a viable nation for four years, and many southerners are prepared to reincarnate the confederacy if this present gov't fails to protect Americans according to the consitution. As I took an oath to defend the constitution of the United States, I couldn't turn my back on 'Old Glory' as did many of my ancestors back in 1861.

To whom do you swear allegiance? For which land would you give your life, your blood?
My answer (quote Lennon/MacCartney), Nowhere Man...

I don't feel nationally inclined and the only moments in my life that anything near patriotism creeps into my psyche is when England, Holland or the US are playing football (soccer)...and then I want them to lose (no matter who they're playing)!
If I were to choose a flag, it would be the Cuban or Palestinian flag I'd play under. Out of reasons of solidarity.

Other question:
If you where a great soccer player, for which country would you play?
And here's just like playing chess no real killing in involved.
