Please respond with "miss," "near miss," or "direct hit." Then reply with something new that you recently discovered.

I'm hooked on this one, for now. Please try to limit your contributions to what you know I might like. Fresh stuff. You know my tastes.

It's bad ass didn't look that bad. I liked the reference at the beginning to TVO (Television Ontario...Go Canada Go)

Well at least turn you know who on to it, if she doesn't know it already. It is damn addictive. It's all the electronic stuff and his voice with it, that it just ... nirvana for my ears. I think I'm older than you, CP, but.. your taste I'm betting kind of stopped around the 80's and you are still loving that stuff, right? I loved, and I mean LOVED Ozzy back then but I'm finding out that the reason I loved him is because he was one of the pioneers of adding electronic synth to rock... and it was the electronic that I loved so much. I'm still loving rock and I think I've finally found (in these Korn-Skrillex mashups) what my ears have been waiting for ... almost 50 years.

Near Miss on Obama-style.. I'll give it some cred because I do like the dancing. And it's nice that the singer was neutral instead of TOTALLY in the tank for Obama like most entertainers.

But let's keep this to music suggestions. Mono y mono, unless there is someone else that's into our kind of stuff that would like to join in. I need new playlist material!

This guy is another pioneer of the electronic hard rock genre (or whatever the genre is called?) -- sorry it's old, but maybe that's a good thing for you.

Um... I didn't notice that's what it was. All I saw was shiny metal and gothic tones. You ruined my love for the mic stand. 😞

Geez, I'm embarassed. Just watched the vid again and how could I have missed all that? Before that I was more fixated on what would be the "head" where the mic meets the stand. Seriously didn't notice.

So... question. Is a mic stand like that sexist? Or is it a tribute to female beauty? I wonder what women think about it. I think it's both.

Here's another one of my favorites... pretty new... maybe you can stomach this one, CP. Direct hit, I hope?

(note: I was singing this song to/at Obama before he won the election)

You sunk my pt boat. So, what genre does the Korn/Skrillex fit into? I'm still trying to figure that out. Wiki searches aren't working. It seems to be something new -- perhaps undefined.

FYI, no me gusta Folk Metal, Death Metal.

You really liked the one I posted? Cool!

I'm not a big fan of Smashing Pumpkins and these guys clearly draw some inspiration from SP, but, I love this old-school style of rock combined with the eerie voice of the singer. Love this song. Your thoughts? Everytime I hear this song I want to grab a syringe and do some heroin or something.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. CP I hope you had a good Turkey Day. Hey, I just finally figured out the exact name of the genre I'm lovin...... it's Nu Metal. I remember my fascination in the 90s, as I (finally) broke away from mainstream Glam Metal and Southern Rock, in favor of electronic music and industrial music. Well, this Nu Metal... it has everything I love rolled into one. Industrial, Electronic, and Metal. Bands belonging in the sub genre include Linkin Park and Evanescence (not coincidentally, 2 of my favorite bands) .... Great! So now that I know the name of the genre, I can follow it and find more and more stuff as it comes out. By the way, it is said that the first song to break the barrier between urban music and heavy metal -- which marked the beginning of nu metal -- was this song, released in 1989:

That brings back memories of this popular glam metal song that was playing around the same time -- loved the guy's voice:

Countdown is a good song and I like it a lot.
Epic IMO is just that. I loved it and loved FNM. Jim Martin is an original stylist on guitar. His Arabic riffs and choppy chunking is legendary.

I'd bet you've listened to this popular song a few times, maybe even cut a rug to it.
