I have created a useful system tray application for Windows that allows you to always know when you have moves waiting for you. For more information on the tools and how to get it please check out:

For those wondering, yes Russ has given the thumbs up to people using it.

Seems to work on Win2k as well. Good work.. its pretty cool

A neat addition might be to set which website its going to watch.. ie.. redhotpawn., redhotchess., timeforchess, as I don't use redhotpawn, I use the other ones (my wife is logged in to redhotpawn, as we're too lazy to log out all the time.. hehe)

I have it and it sounds like a great idea but no one is freakin' moving so I can't tell if it's working yet..... *twiddles thumbs.... tries to whistle...*

It's working now!!!! What a great idea, man. Very well done. I'll make sure to tell as many people as I can about this, should they not catch this thread.

Hmmm... Sounds good except for one thing. If I install your program then it's going to bog down my games! 🙁 Cause it will be trying to check for moves while I'm playing Doom 3 (and the others).

So, No thanks.

I'll look into adding a setting to set which web site to check. I'm not really familiar with the other flavours of this site and thought they were just a different face on the same site.

And thanks for letting me know it runs on Win2k 🙂

Actually it's pretty light weight and might actually not hit your game at all. I've played Flight Sim while it's been running with zero affect. But I definately don't want to get blamed for a frag.

What are the chances that the program could also tell you how many games you have that are waiting? It helps to know that you have some, but like for those of us who are in Long Haul tournies and like to leave some games sitting for a few days, the program isn't as helpful. Maybe something to try for version 2.0?

I can definately add that. That is currently part of the data that Russ is exposing. I can add that to the tool tip string that is displayed when you mouse over the icon in the tray.

Currently it just works with Red Hot Pawn. I'll add the ability to work with the "sister" web sites chess at work, etc.
