i'm not sure about the whole idea.
But definitely non-anonymous moderators!

OK I am not and never have been a moderator... in fact I don't even know what a modeartor is or does and who are Chris and Russ anyway? 😉

I think that a moderators anonimity should really be up to him. If he wants to be anonymous then so be it. However, I can understand some of the other points that have been raised. I don't think that elected Moderators would necessarily work. For the reasons that Bob riased earlier.

I can understand Paulies anger at being modded though. I think that if a post has been modded for a very obvious reason then people can usually understand that, and they should probably try to avoid posting it in the first place. If a moderator moderates a post for a reason that is not obvious then they should maybe send a message to explain this to the poster. You must consider that there are quite a few younger members on this site and its quite easy to forget this as some are very articulate and possessed of large vocabularies, which can be misleading.

I'm wondering if someone could tell me if your moderated, are you alerted to the fact of is your post just removed?

I'm sure it could be sorted so that when a post is moderated the moderator fills in a few lines to explain why and this message is then automatically PMed to the poster. Of course this does depend on the qauntity of moderating required in your typical day as I haven't a clue.

Maybe having something like half the mods elected and another half appointed by the owners?

The list of mods at the doesn't really bother me at the moment, although someone like vaknso who isn't active anymore shouldn't be a mod should he?
Just one name doesn't make too much sense to me: UncleAdam.
I wouldn't like to have a post modded out by a teenager 10 years younger than me on some arguable post.

he's not 10, and does his age really matter? out of all the regular posters, how many are minors? CFC? zach? royalchicken? that DW44WHATNOT guy that i can't remeber his name? tis quite a consideable percentage, when u think about it. do they not need a voice? 😛 also-him being younger means that he won't stand up to swearing etc...

and anyway-just cause he's younger, doesn't mean he's less mature than some people here...😉

Did you even read my post??

I said if I posted something arguable (meaning not swearing etc.) and was moderated by some teenager who I think doesn't really have the 'experience' to decide on such matters, I wouldn't be very impressed.
