Let's think about that for a sec...maybe it is because of your attitude.
The top players actually command a little respect...(and I am not
speaking for myself...untill you hit the top 5 I don't think you can call
yourself a top player)...but yes I deleted the challenge you sent me
completely due to what you said to Paul.
You need to learn some manners...when I was coming up in USCF I
never would have gotten an autograph by Joel Benjamin or Robert
Byrne by saying they were "sissys".
Have fun here...but also have respect for others. You will make alot
more friends that way.
Dave
I know him pretty well...but yes when I was 13 I got his
autograph...now since I have been in many tourneys that he was in he
always takes time to say Hi and stuff. Nice guy...a little arrogant..but
nice.
Actually you would not believe all of the GM's I have met over the
years...I am sure a few people on here have some great stories too.
I will tell a few if others do.
Dave
that I forgot to start telling stories.
The ones from when I was a kid are kinda lame..due to the fact that I
was a kid and they only just smiled..shook my hand..said I had some
talent and gave me an autograph...well except GM Walter Browne who
told my dad that he should keep a better eye on me and not let me
walk around with my pants unzipped..hehehe...I was 11 what can I
say. Although he did sit down and analyze a game with me and my
dad...of course after I zipped up my pants.
FM Emory Tate is the absolute best person to sit down and analyze a
game with...this guy is an attacking nut..and always goes full tilt...and
then put a beer in his hand and he will talk for hours about games
and go through moves faster than you can think.
I will go through some more later if anyone else wants to hear. Plus I
have one claim to fame that I bet noone else here can claim.

One of the most impressive moments I experienced with meeting top players life was in a tournament in Brussels back in the mid 80-ties
(I was just a spectator = Kibitzer) where Karpov, Korchnoi, Polugajevski, Timman, Hort, Tal and more of that kaliber were playing. Next to
the playing room was an analysis room where you could watch screen by screen each board, without the need to stay quiet, and where
boards were available for analysis. I was deeply impressed when Tal, who just finished his game, came to the board where I and a friend
were analysing a game (Karpov-Polugajevski) and started analysing with us, as if he had known us for years. Well, he took over the
analysis is a much more realistic term. Unbelievable what this guy could see and show in-between each move. When the game was over
(a draw), the two players joined in and analysed their game together with Tal, who showed them a winning variation.
Sagalchik, Gennady Is the only GM I have met face to face, I luckyly
made a draw to him, Was a nice experience analizing the game, I
had advantage but didnt know how to win. Later I saw this guy in
othes games And I was surprise about my draw, that was the only
draw he made in the tournament. He was probably in his best form,
2618 USchess Federation and a couple of month before got the GM
title.
I n my country we dont have the chances to play GMs, so we have to
travel to other countries, this means spending money.
Last year there was an international tournament but I am not playing
chess since 4 years ago.
