I have a friend who, while subscribed, got through to another round of a tourney. Now that xer/xis subscription has run out, and they are competing in the next round, what happens now?

Your friend can still play out future rounds.

You can assume that they will continue to play the games of the tourney as they would normally, until they have completed the tourney or have been eliminated from it.

Sure, 'friend'. Good luck in the next round, ElleEffSeee...

Thanks my fellow friends, I'll pass on the good news.

Though this shouldn't be allowed to happen should it? Seeing as the person in question isn't paying to use the site anymore, surely they shouldn't be allowed to continue using functionality restricted to subscribers?

Their fellow tourney members have paid to play against them. Why should they be disadvantaged?

How can a person justify not renewing their membership, except to think being a cheap bottom feeder is reason enough.

Firstly, they don't have to justify anything.

Secondly, it's none of your business. 😕

They continue as usual, however the tourney games will impact on their ability to start new games since they are limited to 6 games as a non sub.

If they only have two games going and the next round starts which gives them say 6 games, then until they finish at least three games they will be unable to start new games.

If it is a 7/14 or longer tournament and their opponents are slow players then their daily game play could be severely limited.

Well, technically, they were subscribed when they started the tournament. Subscription doesn't allow for people to enter tournaments. It wouldn't be fair to kick them out the moment they lose their subscription. Same when a user who loses their subscription and they have more than 6 games on the go. They wouldn't be able to start new games, but wouldn't be right to have games lost because they haven't got a subscription.
