Has anybody ever heard of a japanese foodstuff called Ramen? They are a kind of noodle soup but with meat and vegetables (and sometimes fish too) to make it into a meal.

I have never tried it, but I have seen them eat it quite often on naruto and am keen to put it to the test.
I went to a ramen restaurant in Tokyo once. It's a great way to get a good, filling and very cheap meal. Not the most interesting one, though. You should try soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles).

Charshiumen set with gyouza.... to die for. Tennkaipin do the best.

Nagasaki champon is also good.

I didn't like Tokyo ramen, too salty with shoju.

Did the cheap meal include the cost of the plane ticket? 😕

Made a lovely bowl of noodles last night.

Stripped and chopped the meat off of some chichen legs, then boiled the bones and skin to make the stock. Put the stock in a pan, added a little chicken bullion, sweetcorn, onion, scallions, loads of pepper, then boiled the chicken and the noodles in it 🙂

Any cool noodle dishes ?
a lttle meat sauce some italian seasoning diced tomato dead sea salt and minced onions poured over classic italian noodles boiled slightly firm with a spot of extra virgin olive oil. mmmmm good

I use either top ramen or nissin noodlles for a quick stir fry.

1st I cook the noodles in just enough water to cook the noodles, not to make a soup. I usually use a bit of soy sauce and hot sauce to season the water.

2nd I chop whatever left over chicken or beef I have into bite size pieces, stir fry them in a wok (any pan with do) with soy sauce and a bit of olive oil, throw the noodles in at the last minute. Season with whatever you please, throw in veggies, or not.

Takes 10-15 minutes tops.

Great when you're drunk and starving. Just don't forget to turn off the stove. Nothing sucks as bad as a smoke alarm going off when you're plastered!

Wok fry onions, chilles, garlic until golden brown

Add in bonesless chicken, salt, pepper baby veg and little water.

Boil noodles and add into wok once done
