So much for not using that second identity to flame anyone. 😲
And I didn't intend to use this identity to hide behind, I just forgot who I was logged in as at the time. Best solution is I will make an effort never to post as Quick. OK?
Originally posted by QuickIs this racism, nationalism or just too much "team pride"? The only part of European soccer I see in this country is on the news when these hellacious riots break out. Maybe it's like auto racing where they only show the wrecks on the news. Now in the states we will kill you for the color of your skin (at least in some parts), but not for the colors of your team. Losing is just an excuse to drink more so at least losing has some redeeming self-destructive value.

Don't take it out on each other over your teams. When I see these over-paid athletes in this country I think to myself "thank God these guys can play that sport because they sure as hell can't do anything else." Baseball players for example. Can you tell me any other segment of society where one could get away with a propensity for constantly spitting and playing with one's balls (not the ones in the game) and get away with it, much less ask for a multi-million dollar salary? And basketball players whose vocabulary is 50% "you know", don't get me started there. Kirk

What's the feeling towards Berti at the moment north of the border?
On a domestic front, the team I support, Exeter City, have plunged to the bottom of the 3rd Div. and are looking likely to be playing non-league football next season, that's if the club is still in existence. It's not looking pretty. Around £700,000 owed to Mowlems, the building company too. Michael Jackson is an honourary director of the club as a result of his friendship with "co-chairman" Uri Geller. Perhaps they'll invest in the club. Hmm. Perhaps not.

Bit of an open goal that wasn't it. Any kind of sideswipe was likely to hit the target 😉 It's embarrassing enough just having them associated with the club, it's just asking for sarky whimsical comments! And just recently the person who played Darth Vader in the Star Wars films (the person, not the voice as I understand it) has become a director. Someone somewhere is playing a very cruel game with a club that was founded 99 years ago and might well not live to see 100!
